While Thace was on his way to exploring Bell Tower on his first full day in Ecruteak, he came across a Bug-type Pokemon crawling out of tower the grounds while a Flying-type was pecking at it. Thace shooed the bird away.
He was not at all surprised when he found the Nincada waiting for him when he exited the tower, and welcomed the new member of his family with little fuss once he was sure the Nincada wanted it and knew what he was in for. The Hepta of legend was left to die as a sickly youngster but survived and slew the leader of a tribe after luring them into a pitfall trap. Thace thought it seemed appropriate, and Hepta agreed.
Because it moves so quickly, it sometimes becomes unseeable. It congregates around tree sap.
